1: Traditional Combination-style
Chestpiece |
Traditional chestpieces have a bell side
to hear low frequencies and a diaphragm
side to hear high frequency sounds. The
chestpiece must be turned over to listen
to the different sounds.
 |
 |
- Bell
Mode (low-frequency)
Use light
contact on the bell side
to hear low-frequency
sounds.
|
- Diaphragm
Mode (high-frequency)
Turn the
chestpiece over, index to
the opposite side and use
firm pressure to listen
to high-frequency sounds.

2: Tunable Technology in Single-sided
Chestpiece |
Littmann
stethoscope's patented tunable technology
provides convenience, versatility and
enhanced acoustics. Its dual frequency
diaphragm combines both bell
(low-frequency) and diaphragm
(high-frequency) modes in the convenience
of a single-sided chestpiece. You control
bell and diaphragm modes by pressure on
the chestpiece rather than turning it
over.
 |
 |
- Bell
Mode (low-frequency)
Light contact
with chestpiece allows
you to hear low-frequency
sounds.
|
- Diaphragm
Mode (high-frequency)
Without turning
the chestpiece over, use
firm pressure to hear
high-frequency sounds.
